This is my new baby barn owl born of 1st September. the photo was taken a week ago. I don’t have a name yet but will let you know in due course. its eyes are yet to open.

Shadow – arrives
At the same time that I got Zeus my Red Kite I also picked up Shadow my Common Buzzard. he was so cute and very shy, he would hide behind Zeus, and bless him Zeus would protect him. I then separated them and the chirping started. Shadow likes to be heard. he is a stunning bird. I had a gentleman out this week from the Netherlands who glides with buzzards and has always wanted to be even closer to one. His dream came true when his wife bought him a falconry experience with me and he got to feed Shadow off the glove.
New Bird Arrives: Red Kite
Finally, after years and years of waiting I have finally purchased my Red Kite. His name is Zeus – Greek for ‘God of the Sky’ . I picked him up at 5 weeks old. He chose me in a way and I’m glad he did. I left him for a few weeks to settle in with his partner in Crime ‘Shadow’ the Common Buzzard also 5 weeks old before we separated them and I started their training but more on Shadow another time. Zeus came with me to different shows and was quite steady on the perch but prefers to be on the glove so he can get a better view of what’s going on! Zeus is a right little character so no doubt there will be more about him later.
